I'm pretty happy with my iPad 2, though as a designer and dabbler of photography, more pixels are ALWAYS welcome. I anticipate that the first time I see one of these Retina Displays in the wild at 9.7 inches, I will probably flip a bit and suddenly want/need one. You can count that each subsequent iPad from here on out will have a retina display as well, so even if I skip a year, it'll be waiting.

I'm trying to look at this situation objectively and plan on watching Nightline tonight to see the whole piece. While I agree with you, it's also important to note that we're talking about a foreign country with a different model of government and an entirely different standard of living. I had to cock my head a bit when they showed hundreds of people waiting outside the factory hoping to get a job there. And while I don't completely disagree with you, I do think "slave labor" is a bit of a stretch. Thanks for the comments, though!

I read this article yesterday. I think it's sad the conditions in which the Chinese have to work and live to give us our fun toys that we take for granted. The portion of the article that you posted really hits home when you read that one of the factory workers they interview had never used a fully functioning iPad. It's pathetic to think it would take three months of their salary to purchase an iPhone. It's slave labor on a whole new scale.

It is encouraging about aiming your arrows at more than one thing. This is what I've done but actually too much. Stretched too thin.

Got a growing blog but also several websites and over 140 domain names. If I concentrate more on the blog it should be very successful.

I'm glad you like the origami blue bird I drew, 'bet you'd like my flickr paper toy set:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/jacquedavis/sets/72157605609557222/
and the flickr paper toy group
http://www.flickr.com/groups/11445189@N00/
lots of the paper toy designers put blank templates on their web site so other artists can draw their own designs on them.

I LOVE paper too! - For Origami - "Onion skin" paper is delightful to use, it is so light weight and folds a great crisp fold - the blue bird above was printed out on onion skin paper and then folded.

Best Regards,
Jacque Lynn Davis
